In multisite environments, some users may roam between sites regularly. When such users take their Cisco Unified Communications endpoints, such as a softphone or Cisco Unified Wireless IP phone with them, the standard configuration of their endpoints must be adapted to suit the needs of the physical location to which they roam. For this adaptation, a professional unified communications system must provide a solution.
In this section, we describe Cisco Unified Communications Manager Device Mobility, a feature of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager that allows its endpoints to be dynamically reconfigured based on their actual location, as determined by the IP address that is used by the device.
