CUCM Advanced Route Plan: Using Translation Patterns

So what is a CUCM Translation Pattern? Simply Calling and Called Party Transformations that can be applied globally in the CUCM cluster. If that sounds confusing, you’ll want to watch this Nugget!

“A one off set of digit transformations which can be assigned to the cluster as a whole, rather than to the Route Pattern or Route List” – Definition of a Translation Pattern.

A Translation Pattern doesn’t offer the ability of where to send the digits.. Where as a Route Pattern does.

For example… someone calls Reception on their DDI, you can translate the digits to your internal dial plan to keep the call Onnet. This is something you want to occur globally.
