12.1 Deploying Users and Local Endpoints in Cisco VCS Control

The Cisco TelePresence Video Communication Server (VCS) Control is a call control processing server for video endpoints. Cisco VCS Control is often referred to as simply Cisco VCS when it is not deployed with the Cisco VCS Expressway Series. Cisco VCS Control supports different registration and authentication options for different types of endpoints.

In this section, we describe the user and device authentication options and how endpoints register with Cisco VCS Control. We also describe the configuration options for calls between locally registered endpoints. TheLDAP integration option provides an overview of user LDAP authentication to control the Cisco VCS, an overview of LDAP authentication options for endpoints, and a configuration example on how to provision the Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence (previously Movi) client.
