This topic describes the function of Unified Communications mobile and remote access.
- Cisco Collaboration Edge solution that supports endpoint registrations over untrusted networks.
- Main features:
- Off-premises access
- B2B communication
Unified Communications mobile and remote access is a core part of the Cisco Collaboration Edge Architecture. Mobile and remote access allows endpoints such as Cisco Jabber to securely utilize registration, call control, provisioning, messaging, and presence services that are provided by Cisco Unified Communications Manager when the endpoint is not within the enterprise network. The Cisco Expressway Series components are used to provide secure access and firewall traversal to the endpoints that register with Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
The main features of mobile and remote access are as follows:
- Off-premises access: Unified Communications mobile and remote access offers a consistent experience to clients such as Cisco Jabber and the Cisco TelePresence EX, MX, and SX series, whether they are in the internal network or on an external network.
- B2B communication: Unified Communications mobile and remote access offers secure B2Bcommunication.
